211 LA County Celebrated National 211 DAY in style on February 11, 2013 with the "Innovation, Collaboration and Partnerships" luncheon attended by over 350 guests.
The event included performance by harpist Isabella Spring, a student at North Hollywood High School Highly Gifted Magnet and keynote introduction by Elise Buik, President of United Way of Greater Los Angeles. Dr. Charles Sophy, Medical Director of Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services was Master of Ceremonies and he shared a good humored introduction to 211 LA County Executive Director Maribel Marin. The luncheon featured a documentary created for 211 LA County by Joey Travolta's Inclusion Films, a workshop that trains Developmentally Disabled adults for careers in the film industry, "Real People, Real Help, Reel Stories" told the stories of those helped by 211 LA County services.The luncheon celebrated National 211 Day and was 211 LA County first-ever fundraising luncheon. In anticipation of the event, The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors declared February 11th 211 DAY in Los Angeles. If you were not able to join us, you can still support 211 LA County with a donation. Or, simply plan to join us in 2014 for 211 DAY on February 11, 2014.
