On October 26, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., the hilly enclave of Los Feliz will serve as the backdrop for the 1st annual Los Feliz Art & Food Festival. The festivities will take place on Vermont Avenue between Franklin Avenue and Melbourne Avenue. The New Arrival Supper Club will host a chef demo and speaker panel moderated by chef, author, radio host, and "fairy Godmother of the LA food scene," Evan Kleiman. Miry’s List will offer residents and visitors an opportunity to get to know your neighbors using the universal language of food.
There will be live performances throughout the day, a food truck, all-vinyl DJ sets, and more as the festival celebrates new and established restaurants, boutiques, bars, book stores, and businesses. So this is your invitation to celebrate our relationships with food and each other, and to create interactive works of art through activities that cross language, cultures, and borders.

LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE – Supervisor Kathryn Barger and the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation (LA County Parks) will saddle up for the rich equestrian tradition of “Barger’s Trail Blazers,” an annual horseback ride through the lush landscape of Los Angeles County’s many miles of multi-use trails. During this year’s event, mounted riders will follow a scenic creekside trail for a three-and-a-half-hour ride in the hills of La Cañada Flintridge, culminating with a lively barbecue featuring live country-western music.

The equestrian event was established more than 35 years ago by former Los Angeles County Supervisor Peter F. Schabarum and later continued by then-Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich. Supervisor Kathryn Barger has carried on the tradition to keep County residents engaged in utilizing Los Angeles County trails, which offer a popular recreational activity for people of all ages.

LA County Parks proudly maintains Los Angeles County’s magnificent system of more than 200 miles of multi-use trails, which feature connections to other municipal trail systems, and provides outdoor enthusiasts with a full range of recreational opportunities.
