The Resource Center provides family support services for parents of children, from birth to adulthood, who have developmental delays or developmental disabilities. Services are available for families in Bell, Bell Gardens, Carson, Compton, Cudahy, Dominguez Hills, Downey, Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood, Paramount, South Central Los Angeles, Southeast Los Angeles, South Gate, and Southwest Los Angeles.

The FRC provides specialized information and referral services to families with developmentally delayed children. The center refers families to agencies and collaboratives that provide early intervention services in the areas of audiological services, family education, infant development programs, medical services, occupational and physical therapy, and psychological services.

The Family Resource Center may also offer toy loans and play dates.

The Family Resource Centers can assist in navigating the Regional Center system including their rights under Early Start. The center can also arrange parent to parent networking, either one on one or in a parent support group. The center also operates a telephone warmline/talkline, with available Parent Advocates. They provide support and information.

The agency also maintains a lending library stocked with parenting materials such as books, literature and videos which provides information for families caring for children with special needs. The agency publishes a quarterly newsletter that is available to parents in hardcopy form.

The agency presents seminars aimed at preparing families to help their children to transition from early intervention programs to programs provided by the public school system. Additional trainings and educational presentations are provided throughout the year in English and Spanish on a variety of topics related to caring for a child with special needs APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in for service; appointments are preferred. Identification in the form of a CA driver's license or CA ID is required only to be able to borrow materials from the lending library. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There is no fee for services.
