Clothing ( Children in Formal Kinship Care )

Provider: ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF LOS ANGELES - FOSTER CHILDREN'S RESOURCE CENTER

The program provides clothing and personal goods to children who are involved with DCFS in the San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita Valley. Services include baby clothing, clothing and hygiene kits for foster children, children in formal kinship care, children with court guardianship and children with birth parents who have an open DCFS case. Service is restricted to children who have been placed by L A County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) in licensed foster homes or with relative caregivers in the San Fernando Valley.

New clothing for children of all ages, from newborns to age 21 years is available. Clothing given to children includes layette sets, undergarments, jackets, jeans, t-shirts, sweats and school uniform. The center also gives children backpacks, books and toys as well as a personal grooming kit. Some used clothing is also available. Children may visit the center twice annually. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply; an appointment is required. Clients and caregivers must present a referral form provided by Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for service.
