The program provides emergency food for people in the Los Angeles area, including people who are undocumented. Services include occasional emergency food assistance and the commodity supplemental food program for seniors over 60 years old. People who are homeless may receive assistance one time only. The program is designed to assist people facing crisis, such as loss of paycheck, and is not for people in chronic need. The program provides a bag of groceries which contains USDA commodities, canned and packaged dried food. The amount of food provided varies with family size, but is enough to last approximately four days. People are eligible for assistance every 30 days. Service is restricted to residents of Los Angeles zip codes 90005, 90007, 90008, 90011, 90016, 90018, 90037, 90043, 90047, 90062 and 90220. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Walk in for service. Picture ID and proof of income are required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for service.
