Provider: COMPTON CENTRAL HEALTH CLINIC

The agency provides health services for people of all ages who live in the Compton, Watts and Long Beach areas. Services include general medicine, family practice, CHDP exams, family planning, lab testing and X-ray, lead testing, mammograms, mobile health care, obstetrics/gynecology, pap smears, pediatrics, personal/work injury, podiatry, pregnancy testing, sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment, and TB testing. There are no geographic restrictions.

CHDP provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.

The Helping Hand Program, a mobile health care unit, provides basic primary and preventive health services to patients of the clinic who have barriers to transportation. The mobile unit also visits schools, youth centers, homeless programs and senior centers. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in for service. An appointment is preferred. Picture ID or Drivers License is required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fixed fees. Private insurance, Medi-Cal, Medicare, Family Pact and an ability-to-pay plan are accepted.
