Congregate Meals/Nutrition Sites

Provider: CITY OF CLAREMONT SENIOR PROGRAM - JOSLYN CENTER

The program provides nutrition programs for adults, 60 years and older. Services include a brown bag program and a congregate meal. There are age and income restrictions for some programs; there are no geographic restrictions.

The congregate meal program is provided from two locations, the Joslyn Center and the Blaisdell Community Center. The program provides a hot, nutritious meal Monday through Friday, and also provides special holiday celebrations for seniors.

The brown bag program provides a bag of groceries one time per month from the L A Regional Food Bank and the Inland Valley Hope Partners Food Pantry is two days a week. To qualify, seniors must meet low income guidelines and be registered with the respective agency. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in for assistance. Reservations are required to participate in the congregate meal program. Call for information about availability for the L A County Regional Food Bank and the Inland Valley Hope Partners Food Pantry brown bag programs. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE The suggested donation for congregate meals is $2 for people age 60 and older and $4 for people 59 and younger; no one is turned away due to inability to pay.
