The program provides consumer assistance for the city of Santa Monica. Some services are restricted to Santa Monica residents.

The program accepts complaints about businesses that are located in the city of Santa Monica from consumers regardless of their city of residence. Services include consumer counseling and information and referral. Most consumer problems are considered, including those that deal with refund policies, warranty or guarantee problems, and complaints about service providers. Printed material about consumer-related issues is also available.

Residents of Santa Monica may also receive information and referral with complaints about businesses outside of the city of Santa Monica.

In addition, the division enforces the city's smoke-free workplace ordinance and accepts and investigates complaints about violations. The unit also takes complaints about possible violations of the disability rights laws. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information or to file a complaint. Complaints may also be submitted online at the agency's web site. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
