Crime Victim/Witness Counseling

The agency provides domestic violence services for adults age 18 and older who live in Los Angeles County. Services include individual and group spousal abuse counseling for women who have been battered; child abuse counseling; child abuse prevention; counseling for victims of crimes; and parenting education. Services are targeted, but not restricted, to the Spanish-speaking community; there are no geographic restrictions.

Parenting education is provided for court-ordered and voluntary individuals. A 12-week program and a more intensive, 52-week program are available. The 52-week program targets parents who have been found guilty of child abuse. Staff will provide progress reports to the court if necessary.

Child abuse prevention is available for court ordered individuals. The program teaches non-offending parents and caregivers how to avoid potentially abusive situations and how to recognize the signs of abuse. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply; an appointment is required. Proof of income is required except for applicants who have been declared indigent by the court or fall under the Victims of Crime program. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are set on a sliding scale. There are no fees for participants whom the court has declared indigent or who fall under the Victims of Crime program.

Fees for parenting education are set on a sliding scale that generally ranges from $10 to $15 per session.
