Dog Guides
Provider: GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND
The agency provides services for people with disabilities who live in Los Angeles. Services include dog guides for men and women who are visually impaired. The program is a two or three week in-residence training course at the San Rafael, CA or Portland, OR facility. The agency will underwrite the round trip airfare and provide follow up assistance to guide dog users in their own home or place of employment. Staff also provide necessary follow-up work connected with the training. Guide dog users may request boarding of dogs, which is dependent on space availability. There are no geographic restrictions.
