Domestic Violence Hotlines

The agency provides shelter for abused women and mothers with children ages birth to 12 years old in the Compton area. Services include a drop-in center, 24-hour domestic violence hotline and transitional housing/shelter. Services are restricted to individuals in SPA's 6 and 8.

Residents may stay up to 45 days, with the possibility of an extension for extenuating circumstances. Staff provide case management to help residents find permanent housing, assistance with school or vocational training, budgeting, nutrition and parenting. Residents are referred to Los Angeles county mental health service providers for additional services as needed.

Residents may also participate in on-site computer classes and workshops, and after-school children's program. Assistance with legal services including restraining orders, paternal orders, name changes, judgments and divorce is also available. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply; a referral is required from an agency located in SPA 6 or SPA 8. ID, proof of income and proof of residence are required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are set on a sliding scale.
