Early head start assists pregnant women, infants and toddlers up to age three. The program assists with children's physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. It also provides access to prenatal and postpartum care, parent education and parent support services.

The national head start program provides comprehensive developmental services for children ages birth to five, and their families. The program includes health and social services, developmental and behavioral screenings, school readiness and family support.

The California State Preschool program provides a safe and nurturing hands-on learning environment that helps each child with social development, cognitive/creative development, language development and physical development.
