Gas Service Payment Assistance

Provider: SALVATION ARMY CORPS COMMUNITY CENTER - SOUTH CENTRAL LOS ANGELES

The program provides utility bill assistance for residential customers of the Gas Company and Southern California Edison through the Gas Assistance Fund (GAF) and Energy Assistance Fund (EAF) programs. The GAF/EAF programs will pay up to $100 per household ($200 for all electric households); assistance is available once every 12 months. Household income earnings cannot exceed the Federal Poverty Guidelines. There are no geographic restrictions. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply for utility bill assistance; an appointment is required. Eligible applicants receive an appointment for an interview. Proof of income, proof of residence and a current or delinquent utility bill are required. Examples of delinquent bills are discontinuance of service notice, urgent notice, extension notice, final call notice, 48-hour notice, disconnect notice, overdue payment notice, shut-off notice and closing bill. Bills cannot be older than 2 months old. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
