Health Education ( Pregnant Women )

The program provides advocacy for low-income people in Los Angeles County and case management for pregnant women, and families who live in the downtown area of Los Angeles. Services include case/care management, health education, welfare rights assistance, and women's support groups. Geographic restrictions apply for case management.

The program provides advocacy for anyone who needs assistance applying for or are having trouble obtaining public health benefits. Services include application assistance for people applying for Medi-Cal or other health benefits. The program also provides oral health advocacy for Medi-Cal recipients who are not aware of dental benefits.

Comprehensive case management is also available for pregnant and parenting women in the downtown area. Case management services include food, temporary housing and housing location assistance, transportation, child care, and access to health services. Support groups/classes include health education, and breast feeding support.

The agency conducts policy change work to increase and improve access to health care for low income people. The Welcome Baby program provides new parents with education, information, and resources through the child's first nine months of age in order to support the child reach their developmental milestones. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply for advocacy and case management. An appointment is preferred. Walk in for the support groups/classes. Registration is not required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for service.
