The program provides counseling for people in Los Angeles County. Services include adolescent/youth counseling, anger management, bereavement counseling, child abuse counseling for child abusers, parenting skills classes, critical incident stress debriefing, family counseling, general counseling services, general mental health information/education, group counseling, health/disability related support groups targeted to breast cancer, health problems counseling for individuals with AIDS/HIV, in person crisis intervention, marriage counseling, mental health evaluation, perinatal/postpartum depression counseling, professional continuing education, psychiatric day treatment, and stress management. There are no geographic restrictions.

Parenting classes are for self-referred individuals only; court ordered individuals are not accepted.

Counseling is conducted as individual therapy. Health-related support groups for survivors of breast cancer are also provided.

The Community Empowerment Program (CEP) provides psychotherapy for low-income people who live in in the city. Homeless people may qualify for the program with a letter from a shelter within the district. Services include psychiatric day treatment, including individual and group psychotherapy.

Training for professionals includes Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD). The agency staff also conducts community outreach and educational workshops on mental health topics for business and industry. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to make an appointment. Proof of low income status and proof of children as dependents are required to be eligible for a fee reduction. For the CEP program, residents of the city should bring proof of residence and proof of income for psychotherapy services. Homeless people may bring a letter from any shelter. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are set on a sliding scale based on income.
