Provider: CEDARS-SINAI MEDICAL CENTER COACH FOR KIDS AND THEIR FAMILIES

The agency provides health services for low-income families, including those who are homeless or undocumented, with children age 18 and younger in the Crenshaw-MidCity, Compton, Downtown, Inglewood-Centinela, Hollywood, Pico Union, South Los Angeles and Watts communities. Services are provided by two mobile medical clinics, which are equipped with wheelchair lifts, at numerous community sites, including elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, public housing developments and WIC centers. The mobile units are open to the community when stationed at a site.

Health Services for children include anemia and blood lead screening, dental screening and oral health education, developmental screening, general medical care, growth monitoring, hearing screening, immunizations, nutrition and fitness education, physical examinations, and vision screening.

Case management for families includes the evaluation and development of case plans as well as the coordination and delivery of needed services, including referrals for food, housing, counseling, parenting skills development, and government benefits. The case managers facilitate Parent Support Groups as well as Parent Health Education at different sites.
