High School Exit Examination Preparation

The agency provides adult education services. Services include adult high school diploma programs, internet courses, second language programs, and test preparation. Services are provided online. There are no geographic restrictions.

The Online Learning resource department offers a variety of internet courses accessible with a Los Angeles Library account. Internet courses are offered through 3rd party platforms such as Gale Courses, Universal Class, VIP Learning, and Lynda.com. Courses cover a wide range of topics to build on personal development, business, technical and creative skills.

Adult High School diplomas are available through the agency's Career Online High School (COHS) program. Successful graduates from this program will earn a high school diploma and career certificate. They will not receive a high school equivalency (HiSet) certificate.

Second language programs are available via online language learning tools.

Test preparation services are available through the agency's online Testing & Education Reference Center. This resource offers practice tests and courses, , eBooks containing study materials and practice tests, scholarship search, resume builder, and career modules with subjects from career change to salary negotiations. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Visit lapl.org/collections-resources/online-learning for instructions to access services. Los Angeles public library full access library card or e-card is required.

Career online school is restricted to adult residents age 19 and over. Call or apply online; questions can be emailed to cohs@lapl.org. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
