The agency provides health services for adults, adolescents, and children in Los Angeles County. Services include breast examinations, breast self examinations instruction, childbirth education, child health and disability prevention exams (CHDP), childhood immunizations, community clinics, contraception, contract clinics, diabetes management clinics, general medical care, health/disability related counseling, HIV testing, My Health L A enrollment, obstetrics/gynecology, pap tests, pediatrics, pregnancy testing, premarital blood tests, prenatal care, pro-choice counseling, rapid HIV tests, sexually transmitted disease screening, sexually transmitted disease treatment, TB screening, and women's health centers. There are no geographic restrictions.

HIV testing includes anonymous, confidential and court-ordered testing for both women and men. In addition, the center offers anonymous and confidential HIV testing by appointment. Pre and post-test counseling is available as well as referrals for people who test positive. Test results are available within 3-5 days. Rapid HIV tests are also offered.

Contract clinic services include outpatient health services for uninsured, low-income Los Angeles County residents of all ages, including General Relief recipients. It provides primary general medical care. Applicant's household income must be at or below 134% of federal poverty guidelines, or who are GR recipients.

CHDP exams provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.

Services include family planning information and referral in-person and by phone, pregnancy testing and counseling, contraception assistance, counseling, and STD testing and treatment. The center also offers GYN exams, pap smears, treatment for vaginal infections, mammography, breast exams and breast self-exam instruction.

Health problems counseling includes patient education in diabetes care and management and chronic care management.

The clinic participates in the Family PACT program for comprehensive reproductive health for low income patients. Contraception and reproductive health services are provided. Low-income individuals may qualify for services under the State Family PACT program. People whose income is less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level are eligible. Services under Family PACT include a complete physical examination, STD testing and treatment, and contraceptive counseling and services. The Family PACT program serves females from 12 to 55 years, and males from 12 to 65 years. Reproductive health services include colposcopy; case specific pregnancy termination; mammography; and pap smears.

General medical services include physical exams, and treatments for high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, depression and several other general illnesses.

The prenatal clinic provides medical exams, lab work, nutritional counseling and vitamins, child birth preparation classes, a variety of labor and birth options, and post-partum care. The program is a certified Comprehensive Perinatal Service Program (CPSP) provider for pregnant women who are Medi-Cal recipients. The program provides health and nutrition education, psychosocial services and obstetrical services.

The clinic provides advocacy for WIC and Medi-Cal; it can make referrals for low-cost dental care, amniocentesis and ultrasound. Prenatal services are provided by UCLA midwives; babies are delivered at UCLA Medical Center. The center also offers breastfeeding classes and support.

The center offers colposcopy for women who have a DES history or abnormal pap smear, and cryosurgery.

The pediatrics program offers well and sick child care, immunizations, TB testing, referrals and case management. Hearing and vision screenings are also provided. Medications are provided free of cost to non-Medi-Cal patients who quality for other programs.

Adolescent Health Services is a unique program operated by teens for teens. Services include a teen clinic, walk-in pregnancy testing, HIV risk reduction counseling, community outreach, educational presentations and peer health educator trainings. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply. An appointment is required; walk-ins are accepted on a limited bases for certain services. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees for most services are based on a sliding scale based on family income; Family PACT, Medi-Cal are accepted. Eligible contract clinic patients pay no fees.
