Home Barrier Evaluation/Removal Services ( Veterans )

The agency provides services for veterans who have been disabled as a result of their military service, in the city of Lancaster. Services include home barrier evaluation/removal services. Services are restricted to the city of Lancaster proper.

The Housing Assistance Program provides evaluation and home adaptation/barrier removal for veterans with disabilities. This may take the form of such accommodations as ramps; hand rails; grab bars; widened doorways; touch switches for lights and other appliances; light signals for phones, fire alarms and doorways; accessible showers, toilets and kitchens; and other services as required. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Apply online at the agency website or call to have the application sent. Veterans must have their DD 214 and proof from the VA or a physician that their disability is connected to their military service, however that disability need not have occurred in combat. A contractor will evaluate the home and perform the services, the program will reimburse the contractor. The veteran may also be receiving assistance from other funding sources. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
