Services may be restricted to home delivered meals only due to Coronavirus. Please call for more information.

The center provides services for older adults age 60 and older who live in the Second Council District which includes North Hollywood and parts of Arleta, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Toluca Lake and Universal City. Services include information about and referral to community resources; individual counseling; a hot lunch program; health-related education; certificates and forms assistance including tax forms; ongoing educational classes in subjects like Spanish and current events; massages; notary services; recreational programs which include exercise classes, arts and crafts, card games; day excursions and overnight excursions.

The center also provides a variety of supportive services which help to promote the independence of seniors. The supportive services include home-delivered meals, grocery shopping, friendly visiting, and telephone calls for people who are unable to leave their homes; and case management for frail seniors.

The case management program serves frail, homebound seniors, 60 years of age and older. The goal of the program is to prevent premature placement of a senior in any type of institution, and to permit them to live independently in their own home. The program is based on a comprehensive assessment of the individual's needs, usually done in the client's home. A plan is then developed to help link the senior with the appropriate services and resources. Monitoring and follow-up is provided to assure the needs are being met.

The center publishes a monthly newsletter which includes information about current programs and services. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information, a schedule of activities, or to apply for service. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Donations are encouraged for all services. The suggested donation for the hot lunch program is $3.05, and for home delivered meals, $3.00. The notary fee is $10. The suggested donation for the massage is $5.00. An annual donation of $12 is requested for a subscription to the center's monthly newsletter.
