Insurance Fraud Reporting

The department provides consumer assistance to individuals who live in Los Angeles and throughout the State of California. Services include consumer education, insurance complaints, insurance fraud reporting and insurance law. There are no geographic restrictions.
The department also sponsors through licensed insurance agencies the California's Low Cost Auto Insurance (CLCA) program that helps income eligible drivers obtain auto insurance. This program is available to drivers regardless of immigration status.
The department also maintains a toll-free consumer hotline which provides general insurance information and accepts requests for assistance in insurance-related matters. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for service or visit the agency's web site for information. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for most services. Insurance coverage is fee based.
