The agency provides ex-offender services for people who are formerly incarcerated and living in California. Services include employment discrimination assistance, legal information services and public awareness/education. There are no geographic restrictions.

Staff advise formerly incarcerated persons about their rights under the Fair Chance Act and related laws through legal clinics and helplines, and may be able to help negotiate with prospective employers or file lawsuits when individuals have been wrongfully denied a job due to their conviction history.

The agency conducts public awareness, education and outreach on state law and ordinances through direct training of formerly incarcerated persons and social service providers. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call the general line for information. Call one of the Workers Rights Clinic lines to register for a virtual clinic. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no individual fees for services; in some situations, the agency may receive compensation from court/defendant attorney's fees.
