Literacy Volunteer Opportunities

The library provides volunteer opportunites for individuals in Los Angeles County. Services include literacy volunteer opportunities. There are no geographic restrictions.
The literacy program accepts adults, 16 years and older, to become one-on-one tutors for adult learners. No previous experience is necessary but volunteers must register for a Tutor Workshop. There is a requirement of a minimum of 6 months of volunteer service and most tutors meet with adult learners once or twice a week. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for an application packet. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Volunteers are not asked to incur any fees.
