Provider: CITY OF BELL GARDENS - DIAL-A-RIDE PROGRAM

The agency provides transportation services for residents of Bell Gardens. Services include disability related transportation, general paratransit/community ride programs, local bus services, senior ride programs, and taxi services. Services are targeted to senior adults, people with disabilities, and the general public. Geographic restrictions apply; some services are restricted to residents of Bell Gardens.

Local bus services includes fixed route bus transportation services for residents of Bell Gardens, including local trolley bus service.

Dial-A-Ride is available for residents age 55 and older, or disabled adults, age 18 and older. Trips may be scheduled within city limits only.

A Medical Taxi Service is available for people, age 55 and older, or disabled adults, age 18 and older, who need ongoing transportation to out of city doctor's visits within a 5-mile radius of Bell Gardens. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information and to apply for service. People who need wheelchair-lift service must indicate this when requesting service. Requests for service during the week must be received by 6:00pm and on Saturday by 4:00pm. There is no service Sundays or on holidays. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE A one-way fare for Dial-a-Ride services for individuals age 55 and older or people with physical disabilities is $.25
< br> There is a $.50 fee for each trolley ride. People who ride the full route must pay another fare to continue further; $.25 for individuals of age 55 and older or people with physical disabilities. Caretaker may ride with participant at no additional cost. Taxi service for medical appointments is $1 each way, with a maximum 5 round trips per month.
