The agency provides transportation services for people of all ages, including local bus service and paratransit for people with disabilities, in Norwalk. Services include disability related transportation, local bus services and paratransit programs. Dial-A-Ride services are restricted to individuals registered in the program and who travel within Norwalk city limits; there are no geographic restrictions for other routes.

The system provides paratransit through a Dial-A-Ride program for people of all ages who have disabilities and for older adults aged 60 years and older who are not disabled. People who are certified may use the Dial-A-Ride service to go to destinations which include doctor's appointments, work and school and for a variety of reasons such as shopping and personal errands. Dial-A-Ride service operates within the city limits; mobility device lift-equipped vans are used to provide the service. Taxi vouchers are offered for use to select medical facilities in Downey, Bellflower, Lakewood and Whittier. Also, Taxi vouchers for evening service to be used weekdays between 7:00pm to 10:45pm within Norwalk city limits.

The Norwalk Transit Buses operate seven days per week with day and evening hours. There are six bus routes and transfers are available within the system and to other bus lines. Printed brochures which describe the service and show the bus routes and scheduled departure times are available upon request. The fixed route service area includes Artesia, and portions of Bellflower, Cerritos, City of Industry, La Habra, La Mirada, Norwalk, Santa Fe Springs and Whittier. Serving the city of Norwalk, Santa Fe Springs Metrolink Station and the Metro Green Line Station. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in for information. Applicants for paratransit must be Norwalk residents, senior or disabled, and provide proof of disability with a doctor's statement or proof of age on a Norwalk Transit System Application form. Dial-A-Ride service must be scheduled in advance. FEES/ PAYMENT SOURCE One-way Dial-A-Ride fees are $1.00 for disabled adults and seniors. Fixed route bus fare is $1.25 cents for adults, $1.00 for students grades K-12, and $.60 for seniors age 62 and older, disabled and Medicare card holders.

Two children under 5 years old ride free when accompanied by a paying adult. Transfers are additional. NTS Local Transfer is $.50 and Interagency Transfers are $.50.

Service hours
Bus service is provided Monday through Sunday; limited service is provided on holidays. Dial-A-Ride service is available Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am to 5:30pm. People may call for information Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Evening taxi voucher service is available for registered riders to travel within city limits between 7:00pm and 10:45pm.
