Beginning May 11, Metro will require all riders on buses and trains wear face coverings to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. During this time, riders are asked to keep a social distance of 6 feet from others as much as possible, wear a face covering and avoid riding Metro if a person feels sick.

In order to comply with the City of LA's Safer at Home order, travel is only allowed for essential activities, such as:
- To visit a Dr. or veterinarian - To get medication or medical supplies - To buy groceries - To provide care for minors, seniors and persons with disabilities or vulnerabilities
