Mentoring Services Volunteer Opportunities

Provider: NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY - KERN COUNTY OFFICE

The agency provides volunteer opportunities for individuals living in Southern California and Nevada. Services include clerical volunteer opportunities, mentoring volunteer opportunities and public speaking volunteer opportunities. There are no geographic restrictions.

Volunteers are trained by the agency to provide agency services, assist with clerical duties, serve as peer counselors, and provide community education and advocacy.

There are no eligibility requirements, and volunteers are not asked to take or pass special tests, incur any costs or seek special training. All volunteer training is provided to the volunteer by department managers or LCSWs. Depending on the service or department manager, volunteers may be asked to volunteer for a set number of months or hours per week. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply to become a volunteer. The agency will provide the potential volunteer with an agency packet and volunteer application. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Volunteers are not asked to incur costs or pay fees.
