The society provides health education about the prevention and control of cancer and other metabolic diseases and can also refer people to health practitioners and programs in the greater Los Angeles area and to treatment resources worldwide which have a nutrition-oriented approach. There are no geographic restrictions.

It operates a hotline which offers telephone information about available alternative, non-toxic therapies and practitioners who utilize these methods and can refer callers to specific resources. It also compiles lists of nutrition-oriented practitioners and of resources for non-toxic therapies and diagnostic tests, maintains the Cancer Book House List and offers a list of people who have successfully controlled their cancer through alternative methods who are willing to talk with others. In addition, it publishes the Cancer Control Journal and sponsors an annual convention. The books, journals, directories, and other materials which are available through the society focus on nutrition and alternative therapies including Laetrile, Hoxsey, Gerson, enzymes, cellular, wheat grass, mega-vitamin, metabolic and immunotherapy.

Society memberships are available and include a subscription to the Cancer Control Journal and the annual convention. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information, for referrals or for available publications. An answering service records messages when staff are unavailable. Publications must be prepaid and ordered by mail. A calendar of events is also available. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Information packets are $10, which includes help on the telephone. The annual membership fee is $50. Publication prices range from $1 to $50. The annual convention is held the first weekend of September (Labor Day weekend) at the Hilton Hotel in Glendale, CA, and the three-day convention fee is $50 per day and is open to the public and professionals.
