Occasional Emergency Food Assistance

The program provides emergency food for people throughout Los Angeles County. People who are undocumented, who are homeless, or who receive government assistance are also eligible for assistance. The program provides bags of groceries which include canned food, packaged dried goods, frozen meat, bread and powdered milk. Baby food is usually available. The amount of food varies with family size but is enough to last approximately three days. People may receive assistance once every three months. There are no geographic restrictions. APPLICATION PROCEDURE A written referral is required for assistance. Referring agencies should call the Christian Services Office to verify that food is available and to arrange an appointment.

ID for all family members plus a social security number for the head of household are required. People who receive government assistance must have a referral slip from their eligibility worker. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
