Occasional Emergency Food Assistance ( Older Adults )
Provider: OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH
The program provides occasional and ongoing emergency food assistance for people who have cooking facilities. It provides a week's supply of groceries that includes staples such as rice, beans, butter, flour, powdered milk and bread. Canned and packaged dried goods, infant formula and baby food are occasionally available. The amount of groceries given varies with family size. The frequency people are served is determined on a case-by-case basis and may range from weekly to monthly. APPLICATION PROCEDURE To apply for ongoing emergency food assistance, specialists call to verify availability of food and arrange for same day assistance during the intake hours. Picture ID for the head of household and proof of residence, such as a utility or rent receipt, are required. Program staff interview applicants to assess their need and determine how often they can receive assistance. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
