The program provides inmate services to assist the families of people who are incarcerated, as well as prisoners and former prisoners, with the effects of incarceration. Services include ex-offender reentry programs, families of inmates support groups, family prison visitation support, inmate visitation programs, job search/placement, offender/ex-offender support groups, and specialized information and referral. The program serves people who live, primarily in Supervisorial District 5, however the agency will serve people from other areas. The Passport to Success Job program has geographic restrictions and is available at the Compton and Inglewood sites.

The program assists ex-offenders with release planning assistance as well as post-release crisis intervention and referral; follow-up services, including case management and employment services. Job assistance is available at all locations. The staff also assists inmates get into drug and alcohol treatment programs as needed.

The Passport to Success Job program is a specially-funded job readiness and job placement program supported by federal funds. The Inglewood and Compton sites are contracted to provide these services in a restricted zip code area: 90001, 90002, 90003, 90007, 90008, 90011, 90016, 90018, 90037, 90043, 90044, 90047, 90059, 90061, 90062, 90089, 90220, 90221, 90247, 90248, 90249, 90301, 90303, 90304, 90305, 90746. To qualify, the client must have been released no more than six months. By contract, the program is unable to serve sex-offenders or arsonists.

The family support services assist family members cope with the trauma of incarceration and to link them with needed community resources; support groups for families; information or referrals for emergency needs; after-school programs; and special events for the inmates families.

Additional support services available include information about prisons and jails, including locating inmates; referrals to clothing, food; employment assistance, including job placement; referrals for medical treatment, including eye exams and eye wear and substance abuse treatment; special events, including holiday parties for families of inmates with children; and counseling services, including individual counseling and support groups.
