The program provides emergency food assistance for people with low income, who live in or near West Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley area zip codes. Services include formula/baby food, occasional emergency food assistance, and ongoing emergency food assistance. The agency serves anyone, including people who are undocumented, homeless or who receive public assistance. Services are restricted to zip codes 90004, 90005, 90006, 90007, 90008, 90010, 90012, 90013, 90014, 90015, 90016, 90017, 90018, 90019, 90020, 90024, 90025, 90026, 90027, 90028, 90029, 90034, 90035, 90036, 90038, 90039, 90043, 90046, 90048, 90049, 90056, 90057, 90062, 90064, 90066, 90067, 90068, 90069, 90073, 90077, 90095, 90210, 90211, 90212, 90230, 90232, 90291, 90401, 90403, 90404, 90405, 91303, 91304, 91306, 91307, 91311, 91316, 91324, 91325, 91326, 91330, 91331, 91335, 91340, 91343, 91344, 91345, 91356, 91364, 91367, 91401, 91402, 91403, 91405, 91406, 91411, 91423, 91436, 91601, 91602, 91604, 91605, 91606 and 91607.

Emergency food includes a six day supply of canned and packaged food, bread, produce, meat and dairy. Kosher, vegetarian, low salt and low sugar foods are available for those who request them. Formula and baby food are sometimes available. Participants can receive assistance once per month.

Once people register and are in the SOVA food program they can receive the secondary services which can include case management, counseling, financial assistance, information and referral to additional social services and legal services. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Walk in to apply; first time applicants should arrive half an hour before the pantry opens to register for the SOVA program. Bring an official picture ID for all adult family members; birth certificates are required for children. Proof of residence also required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.

Monday through Thursday, 10:00am to 1:30pm. First time clients must be at the food pantry half an hour before the pantry opens with an ID and proof of residence. Enter from the alley behind Pico Blvd.
