Ongoing Emergency Food Assistance

The program provides emergency food which includes groceries and sack lunches, at eight sites in the Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles, including zip codes 90004, 90005, 90006, 90010, 90020, and 90057. The program can assist people who are undocumented or who are homeless. Services include ongoing emergency food assistance, sack lunches/dinners, and soup kitchens. There are no geographic restrictions.

The ongoing emergency food program provides bags of groceries which usually include canned fruits and vegetables, packaged dried goods, and staple items although each site may vary the contents slightly. Infant formula and baby food may be available. The amount of food usually does not vary with size of family.

Sack lunches are provided at most sites for people who are homeless and usually include easily opened canned meat, fruit, and vegetables; cheese and crackers; and instant soup.

Food is distributed at multiple sites and locations, please see individual site for distribution time and days. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply; referrals are accepted at some sites. Some sites do not accept calls and prefer clients to walk in for service. Individuals are given a number and wait in line until their number is called. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
