Outreach Programs ( AIDS, Drug Use Disorders, Hispanic/Latino Community )

Provider: EL CENTRO DEL PUEBLO - CENTRAL LOS ANGELES

The program provides HIV/AIDS services including prevention and intervention to people in the Central City, Echo Park, Elysian Valley, Hollywood, Pico-Union, Silverlake and Temple-Beaudry areas of Los Angeles, who are at high risk of contracting or spreading HIV. Services are targeted to Latino drug abusers. Services include an outreach program.

The outreach program utilizes community health outreach workers who provide AIDS prevention kits, educational materials, HIV testing, information, and referrals for services. Staff educate drug abusers about high risk behaviors which can lead to HIV infection and assist people who want to enter treatment and rehabilitation programs. It is not a treatment program. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Service is provided as street outreach; there is no application procedure. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
