Outreach Programs ( At Risk Youth )
Provider: FAMILY OUTREACH AND COMMUNITY INTERVENTION SERVICES
The agency provides family life education for at- risk youth, families and individuals who live in Norwalk, Downey, Cerritos, Whittier and La Mirada. Services include adolescent/youth counseling, advocacy, anger management, domestic violence support groups, outreach program, parenting skills classes, support groups for substance abuse issues and weight related support groups. The agency is court approved.
The agency offers a 12 step adult recovery program which includes groups for both men and women. Recovery groups are available for the following issues: chemical dependency, eating disorders, physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, anger management, and sexual addiction. After completion of services, individuals will receive a certificate of completion.
Teen Turn Around is a 26 week program specifically designed for teens who have experienced pain of addictions including: violence, drinking, cutting, pornography, eating disorders, troubled family situations and more. The program provides character development, life skills and preparation for a successful future.
The Parenting Project is a 12 week parenting education program which assists parents with communication skills, preventing drug and alcohol abuse and ways to improve school behavior and performance.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply or for service; an appointment is preferred. CA Drivers License/ID card is required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fixed fees for services. Call for fee information.
