Provider: FAMILY VISITATION SERVICES

The agency provides supervised visitation and monitoring for families with children age 18 years and younger in Los Angeles County. Services include parental visitation monitoring and monitored child visitation exchange. All services are provided in compliance with section 5.20 of the California State Guidelines of supervised visitations. There are no geographic restrictions.

Staff provide monitoring for open visitations, which may take place anywhere allowed by the court order, and monitoring for secured visitations which take place at a secure room. The goal of the monitor is to protect the rights of the child and ensure a safe, neutral environment for the parent-child interaction. The agency maintains an on-site visitation center.

A monitor coordinator develops the individual service plans according to each family and specific court order. Staff are able to provide transportation and exchange services for children to and from visitation locations; special arrangements may be made for out of state request. Monitoring reports and written declarations for the court are also available with a seven day advance notice. Referrals for additional services including parenting classes, and domestic violence classes are also available.

Monitors are insured and fingerprinted and are available for overnight or extended services. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply; an appointment is required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fixed hourly fees for monitors and a one-time, non refundable set-up fee of $150 and rush fee of $200 for appointments set less than one week in advance. Some sliding scale fees may be available. Additional fees apply for transportation costs, monitoring reports, cellular phone rentals, and letters of declaration for the court. There are fixed fees for public speakers or training.
