Parenting Skills Classes
Provider: BURBANK UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - BURBANK ADULT SCHOOL
The school provides adult education services in Burbank. Services include academic, vocational (career/technical), and life skills classes, a high school diploma program, citizenship education, GED/HSE testing and community interest classes. Classes are held at several community sites. There are no geographic restrictions.
Courses include citizenship education, ESL, Spanish,, literacy, parent education and vocational (career/technical) education. ESL programs are provided at levels 1 through 6; a placement test is given for intermediate and advanced levels. Child care is available for students who participate in ESL classes; children age 2 to 4 are eligible.
Vocational (career/technical) training may include such classes as computer lab, photography, nursing assistant, pharmacy technician and cinema makeup artist. Evening classes are available.
Academic counseling is available in English and Spanish. The school also provides career counseling for students. The program has been approved by the Veteran's Administration so veterans may use their educational benefits.
Distance learning opportunities are available in ESL, GED, High School Equivalency (HSE) and vocational (career/technical) program areas. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to enroll or for information. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fixed Fee for different courses. There are no fees for basic education, citizenship classes or ESL classes.
