The agency provides family life education for low-income people of all ages in unincorporated areas of Supervisorial District 1. Services include parenting skills development and peer leadership training for parenting. Services are restricted to residents of unincorporated areas of Supervisorial District 1; these include Avocado Heights, Bassett, Azusa, portions of Clarement, portions of Covina, East Los Angeles, East Valinda, portions of El Monte, South El Monte, South San Gabriel, Valinda, Walnut Park, West Valinda, West Puente Valley, North Whittier, Whittier Narrows and Whittier/Sunrise.

The program consists of 14 sessions. Classes are run by instructors who were once participants. After completing the course parents may attend the on-going support groups available. Staff will provide progress reports to the court.

Training for volunteer peer support in parenting education is provided through a 40 hour program which is open to anyone who wishes to learn how to provide the agency's parenting curriculum themselves. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information or to apply. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fixed fees for services. Parenting skills development is $10 per class.
