Personal Financial Counseling ( Refugees/Entrants/Asylees, Women )

Provider: INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMITTEE IN LOS ANGELES

The agency provides immigration services for people of all ages, including refugees and undocumented people, in Los Angeles county. Services include certificates/forms assistance, citizenship preparation, conversation partners, financial management workshops and personal financial counseling. Transportation and home visits may be available. There are no geographic restrictions.

Assistance is available with I-485 Legal Permanent Residence applications and N-400 citizenship applications. Classes are also available to prepare individuals to take the citizenship exam.

The Women's Economic Empowerment program offers free, one-on-one financial coaching to any refugee/immigrant woman. A English conversational group meets weekly and is open to all levels of English learners.

The agency also provides general advocacy and information related to immigration issues. Refugee resettlement services are available to individuals assigned by the county, and to existing clients. Staff provide case management for the first 90 days of their arrival to the United States. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply. ID and USCIS immigration status documentation are required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for citizenship classes or financial counseling. Fees for application assistance are generally $100.
