The agency provides early childhood education services for low-income families who live or work in Long Beach. Services include child care, an infant care center and a preschool program. Eligibility guidelines include health clearance and immunization records for each child, proof of income, proof of parent's work or school attendance, and proof of residence or work in Long Beach.

The child care program includes infant/toddler care, and serves children from six months to 5 years. It is geared for low-income parents.

The State Preschool program serves children, age 3 to 5 years, of low-income families. It is a three and a half hour program designed to prepare young children for kindergarten. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information. Waiting list applications are available on the agency's website.

Documentation includes ID such as CADL; pay stubs; birth certificate and immunization record for each child, utility bill, and parent's proof of need for services (employment/school/training). FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Call for information. Child care fees are set on a sliding scale from $0 to $592 per month. The State preschool program is free to low-income families.
