Provider: LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH - EDMUND D. EDELMAN WESTSIDE MENTAL HEALTH CENTER

The agency provides outpatient mental health evaluation, psychosocial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, crisis intervention, psychiatric medication monitoring and case management services primarily for adults age 18 and older who are severely and persistently mentally ill and who live in Santa Monica and the westside of Los Angeles. There are geographic restrictions.

The agency also provides an MHSA funded Wellness Center to provide services and support to mental health clients who are in recovery and no longer need intensive mental health services. The Wellness Center provides self-help mental health support groups; peer to peer support groups; social/recreational activities; medication evaluation and support services; employment and education services; housing search assistance; substance abuse counseling; and integrated services and support for co-occurring disorders, such as substance abuse.

Services are provided for children and youth in the Child Health Center co-located with the adult clinic.

In addition the centers provide physical health screenings, and assistance with referrals to health care providers. The program also provides healthy living and health management education. Referrals are given for housing possibilities, benefit maintenance and short term or crisis mental health services. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for an appointment or walk in for service. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are on a sliding scale; Medi-Cal and Medicare are accepted.
