Public Awareness/Education ( Adoption/Foster Care Issues )

The center provides legal services for children who are under the protection of Los Angeles County Juvenile Dependency Court system. Services include foster care legal services, public awareness/education, and printed materials about adoption/foster care issues. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.
The center was created by the Superior Court to serve as appointed counsel for youth in the dependency court system. Attorneys appear on behalf of children in dependency and other legal proceedings.
It also provides public awareness/education through community outreach, educational summits and sponsored initiatives about foster youth and foster care issues. Printed training materials are available and designed for the judiciary, legal advocates, educators, child welfare professionals, caregivers and others to use at meetings, conferences and trainings at the county and state level. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information or to request materials. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for most services.
