Residential Drug Use Disorder Treatment Facilities ( Homeless People )

The program provides residential treatment for substance use disorders for adults age 18 and older. Services are targeted, but not restricted, to people who are homeless, low-income, people who have HIV/AIDS, pregnant women and ex-offenders and parolees. Services include residential alcohol and drug use disorder treatment facilities, sober living homes for recovering alcoholics and drug abusers, and transitional housing/shelter. There are no geographic restrictions.

Applicants for the residential treatment facilities must have at least 24 hours of sobriety, and applicants for the sober living home must have at least 90 days of sobriety prior to intake.

Residential treatment facility services include a three-month to one-year program based on the twelve-step model. Services for include individual and group counseling, alcohol and drug education, vocational training, literacy, life skills and twelve-step mutual support groups.

The transitional housing/shelter program for people with HIV/AIDS provides supportive services including AIDS/HIV counseling, AIDS/HIV case management and referrals, AIDS/HIV support groups and alcohol and drug relapse prevention.

Residential treatment facilities services for people who have HIV/AIDS is a six-month program that includes individual and group counseling, alcohol and drug education, HIV/AIDS education and twelve-step mutual support groups.

The sober living centers for recovering alcoholics and drug abusers provides a sober environment and requires that residents attend one in-house meeting and one twelve-step mutual support group per week. All residents also must have a twelve-step sponsor and assist in daily household chores. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply. For the transitional housing for people who have HIV/AIDS an assessment is given over the phone and individuals must have a current diagnosis for AIDS/HIV and TB clearance. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees for the primary recovery homes are based on a sliding scale. Fees for the sober living homes are $400 per month. There is no fee for the primary recovery program for people who have HIV/AIDS. Private insurance as payment is accepted.
