The medical center provides inpatient and outpatient medical services for people of all ages who live primarily in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys. Services include AIDS treatment and case management for individuals with AIDS/HIV, breastfeeding classes, childhood immunizations, general medical care; emergency room care; OB/GYN; pediatrics; CHDP exams, reproductive health, and urgent care. The Medical Center also serves as a New Applications site for the County Healthy Way LA program enrollments. Case/care management is also available for eligible pregnant women through the Mama's Neighborhood Program. Services are targeted, but not restricted, to low-income people. There are no geographic restrictions for L A County residents.

CHDP provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.

Specialty clinics include audiology, dermatology, endocrinology, ENT, eye, cardiology, proctology, renal, urology, hematology, hypertension, gynecology, obstetrics, family planning and plastic surgery. Services requiring physician referral include neonatal intensive care; physical, occupational, and respiratory therapy; radiology; nuclear medicine. The center enrolls patients for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) and Pharmacy, which provides FDA-approved HIV-related drugs at little or no cost to those who are eligible; call for more information.

Reproductive services include abortion and sterilization procedures, however, pregnancy terminations are only provided when the mother has a medical problem and the physician believes abortion is medically necessary. Laboratory services and a pharmacy are available on the premises.

The medical center participates in the Mama's Neighborhood Strong Start for Families Program for pregnant women who are at high risk for having a preterm birth. Throughout the pregnancy and for up to 10 weeks postpartum, care coordinators help women manage medical appointments and link women with community agencies for additional supportive services. To be eligible, a woman must enroll as a prenatal patient with LA County Department of Health Services (DHS). LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH Spanish; interpreters are available who speak most other languages. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply for services. Call the designated number or walk in for information or to apply for the Mama's Neighborhood program. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are set on a sliding scale; Medi-Cal, Medicare, CHP and private insurance are accepted. There are no fees to participate in the Mama's Neighborhood Program.

Los Angeles County residents may apply for low-cost or no-cost care through an Ability to Pay or Pre-Payment program; eligibility is based on income.

Eligible non-Los Angeles County residents who do not have insurance, are not eligible for Medi-Cal, and whose income is at or below 350% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may apply for a Discount Payment Program.
