Service Cost Payment Assistance ( Assistive Technology Issues )


The agency provides financial assistance to low-income individuals with a range of needs to maintain independence and self-sufficiency, nationwide. Services include service cost payment assistance for accessibility issues and for assistive technology issues. There are no geographic restrictions.

The agency assists qualified low-income applicants with medical and mobility needs to maintain independence and self-sufficiency. Friends of Man assists with a range of needs including mobility equipment, vehicle modifications; ramps and minor house modifications for accessibility; medical equipment (not including medical bills); and prostheses.

The agency works only with Referring Professionals which include social workers, case managers, teachers, school counselors, ministers, and etc. Individuals must have their Referring Professional contact the agency on their behalf. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Friends of Man only accepts applications from Referring Professionals. Individuals must ask their referring professional to contact Friends of Man. Applications are Not Accepted from the applicant, vendor, friends or family members. Referring Professionals visit the agency's web site to request an application and instructions. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for service. Friends of Man pays the vendor directly for the approved item(s) and does not provide funds to the individual applicant.
