Sexually Transmitted Disease Treatment


The agency provides health services for low-income people of all ages in South Central Los Angeles. Services include adult general medical care, blood tests, breast examinations, childhood immunizations, Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) exams, contraception, L A County contract clinic program; eye screening, HIV/AIDS testing, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, prenatal care, STD screening and treatment, and tuberculosis screening. Some services are targeted, but not restricted to the Muslim Community; geographic restrictions may apply for some services.

Contract clinic services include outpatient health services for uninsured, low-income Los Angeles County residents of all ages, including General Relief recipients. It provides primary general medical care and some specialty care. Applicant's household income must be at or below 134% of federal poverty guidelines, or who are GR recipients.

CHDP provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.

Eye screening, gynecological services, HIV/AIDS testing and mammogram services are offered on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.

Additional treatment is provided by referral to the Harbor UCLA and Los Angeles County Hospital USC. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply. An appointment is required. There are no special income requirements. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fixed fees; fees are set on a sliding scale; Medi-Cal, Family PACT, Healthy Families and Public Partnership Program are accepted. Eligible contract clinic patients pay no fees.
