Special Education
Provider: VISTA DEL MAR CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES
The agency provides non-public special education for children in grades kindergarten through 12 who have Individualized Education Plans (IEP) within Los Angeles Unified School District Local District 3. The agency also has an Early Head Start program for children birth through 2 1/2 years; see separate entry for details. Age and geographic restrictions apply.
Services are provided for students with emotional and behavioral difficulties, learning disabilities, autism, and high achievement. The program uses state mandated curriculum and provides individual and group instruction; the student to teacher ratio is one to four. Additional services include independent living skills training, employment skills training, and college advisement. Transportation is available. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply; an appointment is required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fixed fees for services; Medi-Cal is accepted. Payment is typically made by the local school district through the IEP process.
