The agency provides law library services, nationwide. Services include government publications, law libraries, specialized information and referral and workshops. Services are provided over the telephone and through the internet only. There are no geographic restrictions.

The agency extensive reference and referral services to answer questions about crime and justice related research, policy, and practice. Resources are available to anyone interested in crime and public safety including policymakers, practitioners, researchers, educators, community leaders, and the general public.

The agency publishes hundreds of government publications and other information products each year. The types of reports and their content are designed to meet a broad range of concerns.

The agency hosts one of the largest criminal and juvenile justice libraries and databases in the world. The collection includes more than 180,000 publications, reports, articles, and audiovisual products from the United States and around the world.

The agency provides information and referral on various legal topics such as corrections, the courts, drugs and crime, international justice, juvenile justice, law enforcement and victims of crime. Information is available through the internet or over the telephone.
