Specialized Information and Referral ( Operation Enduring Freedom Veterans )

The agency provides services for veterans who were wounded either physically or mentally during their military service after 9/11/2001 in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF), Operation Enduring Freedom (OIF) and Operation New Dawn (OND). Services include peer to peer networking and specialized information and referral. There are no geographic restrictions for web services, however there are some geographic restrictions for some programs. The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) allows injured veterans to register as WWP alumni. Alumni are eligible for information and referral to services such as mental health resources through the Restore Warriors program. Additional mental health programs include Project Odyssey, which provides opportunities for injured warriors or warriors and their spouses to participate in outdoor retreats at various sites throughout the country. Peer to peer networking is provided through the Peer Support program. This program connects WWP alumni to each other for the purposes of mentoring and mutual support. The Warriors to Work program provides support in preparing for and securing employment. The agency also works with employers who seek to hire wounded veterans and connects them with WWP alumni who seek jobs. WWP also sponsors Soldier Rides and 8K runs throughout the country which are opportunities to engage in public events. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or visit the website for information and services.
