The agency provides substance use disorder services for people of all ages in Los Angeles County. Services include central intake/assessment for alcohol and drug use disorders for adults and adolescents; adult diversion for drug use disorders; comprehensive outpatient drug use disorder treatment; comprehensive outpatient substance use disorder treatment; substance use disorder counseling; substance use disorder intervention programs; substance use disorder drop in services; drug diversion; DUI offender programs; substance use disorder education/prevention; alcohol use disorder support groups and drug use disorder support groups; and public awareness/education. There are no geographic restrictions.

Comprehensive outpatient drug use disorder treatment is provided for adults, age 18 and older, and adolescents, ages 14 to 18. Services include crisis intervention; individual, family and group counseling; and a special program for cocaine and amphetamine addiction. The program provides Proposition 36 treatment services for adults.

This county Community Assessment Service Center (CASC) provides central intake/assessment for alcohol and/or drug use disorder. Staff use an automated assessment tool to determine addiction severity and screen the participant's eligibility for specifically funded county-contracted alcohol and drug programs. Supportive services may include substance use disorder education, vocational rehabilitation, transportation and referrals to other community services.

The agency also provides drug use disorder community education and prevention. An early intervention component offers information, support and counseling for youth who are at risk for drug addiction. Education programs are provided for community and professional groups.
At the Glendale site services include outpatient alcohol and drug use disorder services, individual, conjoint, group and family counseling is available for adults. Clients work with staff to develop an individualized treatment plan. Also drop-in services include specialized alcohol and drug-related information and referral, sober social activities. Twelve-step groups, including AA, CA, Marijuana Anonymous, and NA, as well as Women for Sobriety groups are also available. The drug diversion program is a 20-week program for court-referred first-offenders that includes group counseling and drug education. The counselors maintain contact with the courts, if necessary. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees for most services are based on a sliding scale; private insurance, Medi-Cal and Medi-Care are accepted. No one is refused service due to inability to pay.
